This Week’s Shining & Falling Stars: Bret Michaels & Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee

10 May

Every week Starpulse will be highlighting the highs and lows in Hollywood, particularly those who shined and those who, well, didn’t.

Shining Star – Bret Michaels

Surviving a medical scare and landing on the cover of a glossy mag – it’s all in a week’s work for Bret Michaels.

The reality TV alum was rushed to the ER on April 21 after suffering a brain hemorrhage. Although it wasn’t looking too good for awhile, the long-locked lead singer of Poison was able to pull through.

And what do celebs do when they’ve hit the health jackpot? Forget Disneyland – they head to the cover of People magazine!

Here’s to good health (and even better looking hair extensions) for Michaels!

Fallen Star – Michelle “Bombshell” McGee
Now I hate to give this woman any more attention, but at least being named this week’s “Fallen Star” ain’t something to brag about.

Sounding every bit the kooky hot mess she is, Jesse James’ mistress appeared on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show this week to dish more dirt on her affair and to plug her upcoming boxing match (random!).

So why did the tattooed temptress assist Jesse James in breaking up his marriage to Sandra Bullock? Boredom! McGee told the King of all Media that she “had nothing better to do”. I could think of a few better ways to use your time, Michelle. Maybe raising your kid and removing your swastika tattoo for starters!

Nicole Richie – You’ve Come A Long Way Baby!

10 May

Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie looked fab at the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City (left) last week. She has certainly improved with age, considering the stringy multi-color hair extensions and obnoxious blue heels she wore in 2003 at the Billboard Music Awards.

While many stars struggle to look good as they age, Nicole has managed to make the transition with grace. In fact, we think she looks much better. What do you think?

The adopted daughter of pop star Lionel Richie, Nicole entered the limelight when she signed on to appear with fellow heiress Paris Hilton in the Fox reality show “The Simple Life.” She has since launched her own clothing line and became an entrepreneur.

Kate Moss’ 4-Year-Old Daughter Gets Hair Extensions

Kate MossSupermodel Kate Moss gave designer pal Donatella Versace permission to put extensions in her four-year-old daughter Lila Grace’s hair. The 32-year-old brought Lila Grace to a Versace shoot with model pals Christy Turlington and Carolyn Murphy, who had also brought their children, one-year-old son Finn and six-year-old daughter Dylan Blue, respectively.
Moss tells fashion magazine Vogue, “Lila and Donatella struck up a friendship. They put a weave in her hair and she had this long blonde hair down to her waist. Lila was (flicking her hair) and I was like, ‘Oh my God!'” Moss admits her daughter is already a fashionista and they regularly argue over what the youngster is wearing.

She explains, “She says, ‘Mum, do you think this is a good look?’ Then she has a fashion crisis. I say, ‘You’ll wear what I tell you!’ But she says she’s the adult of the bedroom. We lay the clothes out before she goes to bed, but she goes, ‘Mum, I need options.’”

Get Hair Like Beyonce

How to Get Hair Like Beyonce

Whether it’s braided, wavy, curly or straight, long and glamorous hair is Beyonce Knowles’ signature hair style. With a little attention to detail and some extra time, any aspiring songstress or Beyonce fan can obtain Beyonce’s diva hair styles in a matter of hours.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Shampoo
  • Aussie Three-Minute Miracle Conditioner
  • Infusium 23 Smoothing and Defining Lotion
  • 100 percent human hair extensions
  • Flat iron
  • Blow dryer
  • Rubber bands
  • Holding spray
  • Brush
  • Sculpting hair gel
  • Ponytail extension
  1. Step1

Wash and condition your hair with a deep conditioner. Beyonce’s stylist suggests Aussie Three-Minute Miracle Conditioner. Once the hair is dry, add Infusium 23 Smoothing and Defining Lotion to achieve Beyonce’s volume and shine.

  1. Step2

Have a professional stylist put hairextensions in your hair for added length. Beyonce wears 100 percent human hair extensions added to each strand of hair for added length and thickness, and to prevent unnecessary damage to her natural hair.

  1. Step3

Decide which luxurious Beyonce hair style you want to wear. For sleek, straight hair, Beyonce’s stylist, Kimberly Kimble, flat irons her hair prior to pinning it up in Beyonce’s famed ponytail look. Another option is to leave the flat-ironed hair down to hang below the shoulders.

  1. Step4

Try to achieve Beyonce’s wavy look by either roller-setting your hair or by braiding your hair. After washing your hair and adding a style-setting spray, set your hair on large Velcro rollers and allow hair to dry naturally or use a blow dryer. If you don’t have rollers, separate your hair into small sections and braid starting at the crown and working to the nape of the neck. Secure the braids with rubber bands and allow hair to dry naturally and completely. For either method, take your hair down and separate and style the hair with your fingers. Don’t comb because combing will make hair appear frizzy.

  1. Step5

Wear a high-extension ponytail as Beyonce did when she received her star on the Walk of Fame. After washing and conditioning your hair, blow-dry your hair straight with a concentrator attachment. Once completely dry, spray your hair with firm holding spray, and brush your hair into a ponytail at the top of your head near the back of the crown. Smooth the sides and edges of your hair with a sculpting gel before attaching the ponytail extension to your hair.

Oprah defends her hair!!!

17 Apr

Recently while trolling the internet I came across a clip of Oprah clarifying two things for her audience. First was “Am I tweeting myself or is my assistant writing for me?” The talk show host clarified, “I tweet myself, that’s why you haven’t seen that many tweets. I can’t tweet all day, okay?”

But the second topic was alot more interesting. “Am I wearing a weave? Everybody’s like, ‘Oprah, we love your weave.” This is not a weave, this is my hair” she said and she post a picture of herself.

Now I know that African Americans come in all shapes, colors, sizes and with all hair types. Below is the video an d a few pics of Oprah over the years. What do you think? Extensions or no extensions?
